Vogue.com - latest fashion first
“Che Camille's Camille Lorigo at the Herriot Watt fashion show.”

Marina Maclean

Started my label in 1997 which has evolved into a couture wedding dress business but Pete Doherty recently asked me to design a Harris Tweed suit for him which he wore to perform at Paris Fashion Week. A small menswear collection is in the pipeline. I started fashion blog StyleScanner.com in 2009. I have met and photographed some truly incredible people; Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman let me snap her in February!
  • Che Camille's Camille Lorigo at the Herriot Watt fashion show.
  • Charlotte and Cosmo outside the Joseph store in Paris.
  • Model Lauren partying at a Glasgow club in fab black lipstick!
  • Pete Doherty in the Harris Tweed suit I designed and made for him.

Inverarity Fine Wines and Cigars

Dynamic duo Ross Buchanan and Peter Stewart enjoying a cigar outside Glasgow's Inverarity wine shop on Saturday afternoon.

If like me, you're partial to the odd cigar, you'll have a favourite place to score them. This is mine and by the looks of things, I'm not the only one with cigars on my mind today.

Ross used to work here, he now takes care of Dakota Hotel's wine requirements and is smoking a Montecristo Open Junior Tubos.  Peter ("Petrus is life changing") Stewart is the Head of Retail for 'Inverarity Fine Wines and Cigars' and is enjoying a Montecriso Petit Tubos.

The Inverarity shop on Bath Street has a superb selection of fine wines but it's a cigar I'm after this afternoon so Pete tries to establish a suitable smoke from the humidor.

Something for the lady?

What a beauty, never seen one as big as that before but the Cuban Partagas at just over 4" looks a more appropriate size.

My friend Omar told me last night that Glasgow is actually twinned with Havana!

London's Calling

DJs Fraser Bone and Sean Aiden McGuire, hosts of Sub City Radio show SPILL.

Sean is relocating to London so to cement their friendship, they had matching tattoos done last week. Friday was Sean's leaving party at The Flying Duck.

Look out London, I hear Sean has now arrived!

Louise

HR Director Louise looked strikingly chic walking along Woodlands Road today. Her hat lent a "dressy" formality, which really appealed to me.

She confessed to treating herself to a manicure every Saturday.

The Illusionist

1950s Edinburgh stars in this magical hand drawn animation. Based on a Jacques Tati story and directed by Sylvain Chomet (Belleville Rendezvous), it launches in cinemas today
The singing is provided by my friend Leo Condie (Below) and Malcolm Ross, with Ian Stoddart on drums.
Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian has just given it a five star review!

Leo, straight after his Low Miffs gig at the Captain's Rest last week.

Sophie Fabien

Cardonald College fashion graduate Sophie Fabien has won a place at Central Saint Martins to study Womenswear Design, she relocates to London at the end of the summer. All the best Sophie!

This jacket is one of her own designs.

And the fringed trousers look like they might be the work of 'Isobel and Cleo' by Charlotte Hess...

Scottee at The Fringe - Eat Your Heart Out

At the weekend I finally got to see Time Out 'Performer Of The Year' Scottee perform with his E.Y.H.O. collective. This outstanding cabaret is absolutely deserving of all those five star reviews that keep pouring in. Have put together this wee 3 minute film from Saturday's performance to illustrate how diverse each of the acts are. Eat Your Heart Out for tickets.

Holy haberdashery Batman - Che Camille is on the move again!

Hauling myself, my camera and a glass of wine up onto the rooftop of Che Camille for one last time, I quietly contemplate what a wonderful chapter it's been for Camille and the team in this amazing unit high above the swanky diamond stores of the Argyll Arcade. You simply wouldn't believe the people who've been up on this roof...

"Careful Robin. Both hands on the Bat-rope."
"Sorry Batman."

"Alfred, how's the satellite picture?"
"Splendid. I can almost see your pointy ears Sir"

Catwoman: "Let no one say that Catwoman is not the best-dressed woman in the world."
Batman: "There are no fashion shows where you're going Catwoman."
Robin: "And how could a feline temptress like you also be a fashion model?
Batman: "Ah-ah. Give credit where credit's due Robin. She may be evil, but she is attractive. You'll know more about that in a couple of years."

Dick: "Gosh, economics is sure a dull subject."
Bruce: "Oh, you must be jesting Dick. Economics dull? The glamour, the romance of commerce...Hmm. It's the very lifeblood of our country's society."

Meanwhile, on the other side of town and in the shadow of the famous Barrowland Ballroom...

"Tune in next week for Che Camille at The Barras... Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel."

Thought their looks were appealingly early 80s.  Hope this Orange Juice footage demonstrates what I'm on about…

Recoat Gallery - The 3rd Birthday Party

Jenny with artist Lyken Love. Jenny warmly introduced herself with the marvelous line... "I'm the boobs" (for the recent Fools Gold tour) before revealing she's also the rep for Kasteel Cru beer. I was doubly impressed.

Film of the artist Insa enhancing Jenny's breasts in London at the start of the Fool's Gold tour.

Oh, I say... good show. Artist Rekor's moustache is coming along wonderfully. I enquire what you'd call this sort and after some chin scratching, we settle on The "Racer" Handlebar.

Hannah, who recently broke her leg (on a dance floor!), was so relieved when she finally got her plaster-cast removed that she forgot to ask for it back. No big deal other than it had been written on by some of the country's finest graffiti artists. Yowch.

The £1 raffle is drawn and this lucky fellow has just won himself a Mercedes customised by Insa.

Who's this in a La Boca  jacket from Sixpack France

It's Chris Casey, illustrator and author of We Can Never Stop.

This wall had to be repainted multiple times to create the stop motion effect.

Inkie and Insa won't be the least bit impressed but I painted this Bridget Riley-esque canvas a couple of years ago to represent the momentary visuals I get if woken suddenly by a loud noise...! If you happen to be a brain surgeon and recognise this as a symptom of something neurologically sinister, please be so kind as to not let me know...

Visit Recoat Gallery to see all this for yourself.

Click the link to find out about this month's Amnesty graffiti exhibition in Edinburgh which kicks off tomorrow with the live graffiti performance (Sat 7th Aug).

*Edit* Check out Chris' post over at We Can Never Stop.
