When I first approached Jeanette and Karlie for a picture, they turned me down. It was "Not a good time".  I'm afraid it takes more than that to completely put me off, so when I passed them looking more relaxed a little later on, I tried again and got my pic...just!

'Muse' to Gareth Pugh and Giles Deacon, he opened his East London boutique 'Jeanette's' last summer. Twitter tells me Jeanette's is setting up shop in the basement of Brix Smith-Starts' boutique Start London from today...

Two Minute Noodles @ Cry Parrot's Birthday Bash.

Moz and Goose are Two Minute Noodles, a thrashy, psychedelic two piece from Leeds.

I congratulated Moz on getting away with having his drum kit facing the audience while Goose played keyboards with his back to the crowd. More 'grist to the mill' towards my (unscientific) straw poll, that drummers are finally having their day in the sun!

I met David quite late on at the SWG3 party on Saturday night. We had a brief chat and I took a few pictures. When I asked what he did, he was mischievously coy but handed me a postcard of the image below which held just enough clues for a fruitful Google search...

Cradle to Grave by Pharmacopoeia

Turns out David was part of the Butler's Wharf 'group' in the mid 70s and is now widely credited as being one of the most influential early video artists in the UK.

The full 35 minute work was originally played out on 3 screens, all deliberately slightly out of sync. Throughout, he's seen to talk about numerous ideas which never made it off the drawing board - whilst being frequently interrupted by snippets of those very works...

Gary Wilson Lands a Job @ Gareth Pugh

I'm so excited about this. Gary Wilson, one of my favourite designers at last years Cardonald College Fashion Show, has just heard that his interview at Gareth Pugh was successful... as was the one at McQueen!

He's made his choice and it's Gareth Pugh. Gary was interviewed by Pugh himself, who was so taken with one of the images in his sketchbook that he asked if he could photograph it to use the same effect on a pair of trousers.

Steve @ Paris Fashion Week

Steve, our driver and one of the coolest people I saw in Paris. He'd found his tan leather coat in the street, it's actually a woman's! 

Have noticed this trend a couple of times since too, does give guys a leaner silhouette than a vintage man's coat might offer.

As we weaved through the Parisian traffic, I became mesmerised by this crack in the car's window.

C.S.I. GLASGOW: Lamp Post Cosy

Remember winter's mysterious 'lamppost cosy'? Well, it remained untouched, just gradually sliding down the lamppost as it endured yet more weather, until one night just before Christmas...

Scene of the crime.

By the next morning someone had respectfully picked it up and draped it on the nearby railings. Did feel a pang of guilt that I hadn't thought to do that.

Then on Friday I spotted another lamppost sporting a brand new coral coloured 'cosy'. Again in Woodlands, this one's outside The Halt Bar...very baffling.

Mark Dorrian @ Paris Fashion Week

It was a lovely surprise to bump into photographer Mark Dorrian on Avenue Montaigne, Paris. Mark lives in London but I've snapped him before for Style Scanner in Glasgow.

He's recently been working with the respected photographer Simon Harris shooting the latest Vivienne Westwood look-book.

Mark's own blog is the smoulderingly niche 'Chicks Who Smoke' and he also collaborates on 'Diamonds in The Dirt'.

We Have Band @ The Captain's Rest

We Have Band's Thomas, Dede and Darren in Glasgow, I met them very briefly last Tuesday after their gig at The Captain's Rest.

First heard We Have Band on a Kitsune compilation. Highly produced sounding bands can be variable 'live' but - shiver me timbers - their performance was glistening! 

Weirdly, their sound sometimes makes me think of early Spandau Ballet!

Depeche Mode and Interpol producer 'Gareth Jones' has been working with the band. I've just bought the album and, for today anyway, have completely fallen in love with track 12, "Hero Knows".

Dam Mantle Launch Party @ Halleluwah Hits

This is Glasgow record label Halleluwah Hits' first ever signing 'Dam Mantle', he not only made the music and designed the artwork but also hand screen printed all 300 copies of his numbered, limited edition, 'Grey' EP.
