To celebrate the end of their season of events, Diesel Island are throwing a 'Diesel Island Disco with Optimo' party this Wednesday (1st June) at SWG3. The line up features Optimo, D/R/U/G/S, Julio Bashmore, Ooft and Korban Dallas (Thunder Disco Club)... and complementary drinks!

All FREE - but you have to get yourself a"passport" from the Diesel store a.s.a.p. to get in.

Toby Paterson and Rhona Warwick

Congratulations to artists Toby Paterson and Rhona Warwick who got married last weekend.

Rhona asked me to design and make her wedding dress and we had such fun with the 60s theme.

We chose a white 100% silk 'double crepe' for both the dress and the lining, this is a couture technique I use a lot as it gives unparalleled weight and movement to a dress. We also incorporated some original 60s "guipure" lace from Toby's mum's wedding dress, just loved that!

Rhona promised me she'd be pogo dancing in this dress by the end of the night and I'm delighted to report that she kept her promise. Other personal highlights included hearing The New Piccadillys play live and bopping to Pulp's Common People with a Turner Prize nominee!

'Diesel Island' harbours Howard Marks tonight...

An Audience with Howard Marks is at 6pm tonight Mon 16th at The Studio Warehouse SWG3. It's free... but to get in you have to get yourself an event 'passport' from the Diesel store on Buchanan Street.

Don't let the rather contrived 'Diesel Island' marketing campaign put you off, there are some interesting looking events coming up.

A few familiar faces down at SWG3 when Gazmac did his Diesel Island live paint recently!

The finished piece will be on display at the closing party.

Get a Room with FANGS!

FANGS played another awesome set at Get a Room last Sunday. The annual event sees the city's Brunswick Hotel turn itself over entirely to bands and DJs for charity. The no-wave band played two sets throughout the night to a packed hotel room in aid of the Thee Mr Mister Trust in the memory of DJ Paul Nicholls.
