Katie @ WilliamVintage

Katie assisted Will Banks-Blaney at the WilliamVintage Glasgow sale. Her yellow Ossie Clark dress stopped me dead in my tracks, it honestly was the most exciting thing I've seen in ages and I thought she looked absolutely luminous in it.

Reminded me a little of Goldie Hawn, also dressed by Ossie, in the 1970 film 'There's a Girl in My Soup'.

The WilliamVintage Scottish Sale...

This was the gloriously Prisoner like scene which greeted me on on arrival at the press day for the WilliamVintage Scottish Sale.

My friend Jo in a dress she bought at the recent WilliamVintage London sale.

Dresses were on and off all day long.

The fabulous William Banks-Blaney! Will's knowledge and enthusiasm is breathtaking, he can tell you exactly who was designing for which house at any given time, which house they'd come from and where they went next.

DJ Heather Suttie. After meeting at his London sale, Heather hatched a plan to invite Will to do a WilliamVintage Couture sale alongside her 'Say No To Plastic' event this Sunday 3rd July at Oran Mor.

Daily Record features writer Avril Cadden, you can read the piece she wrote here.

Will explained that ladies would have the 'year' carefully unpicked from the label to disguise that it wasn't from the current season, see above and below...

Now it's our turn...

The first ever WilliamVintage Scottish Sale Facebook page.

Meet Heather and Will this Sunday 3rd July at 'Say No To Plastic' from 12pm at Oran Mor, Glasgow.

WilliamVintage Strikes Again...

"My, isn't Billy Banks-Blaney a good-looking boy?" AA Gill, The Times.

Come May 25th, it's going to be handbags at dawn once again when Will Banks-Blaney unveils his latest hoard of couture. When he isn't interior designing for Oprah Winfrey, Will's scouring the globe seeking out the finest quality couture pieces for the cult WilliamVintage sales.

 60s Pierre Cardin.

80s Alaia play-suit.

You might also have seen his four page interview and photo spread in the May edition of Tatler.
If you're able to attend the sale, just be on your guard for a vivacious blond with slim wrists who may charmingly try to separate you from your intended booty. That's my friend Jo and she's under strict instructions that if it's black velvet or patent leather...it's mine!

WilliamVintage...

You lucky Londonistas...
The second ever WilliamVintage sale takes place next Tuesday and Wednesday at The Sloane Square Hotel. William Banks-Blaney has collated an astonishing collection of mint condition vintage dresses, coats and sparates, which I somehow feel compelled to coin 'mintage'.

I asked Will for a heads-up on what to expect...
"Everything from Wakely evening dresses to pieces by Dior, Givenchy, Lanvin, Ossie Clark, Pucci, Valentino, and many more designers. Oh, and about a hundred carefully selected 1960s coats, all in pristine condition!".

This is all starting to sound like a dream trolley dash around the V&A!...

£250 gets an original Studio 54 period Stephen Burrows a-line full length dress.
£300ish gets a cashmere and mink 60s Jackie O style swing coat.
£400-600 gets Ossie Clark beauties.
£1200 gets original 63 couture Marc Bohan for Christian Dior!

Damn I wish I could go. Can actually feel a little tantrum welling, I'm not very practiced at them but bet I could throw a spectacular one in a 'cashmere 60s Jackie O swing coat' with matching gloved fists pounding the table! Grrr...

Tuesday 2nd February 12 noon - 8.30pm
Wednesday 3rd February 10am - 8.30pm
